About Our Craft Centres

We run artisanal training programmes in Tansghart Woodwork Centre and Tamgounssi Weaving Workshop. The centres, each one nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, provide people from the local community with the training, tools and space to learn and share new skills.

Each centre teaches traditional artisan craft-making – including weaving, woodworking, tailoring, rug-making and embroidery. Training programmes are offered for free to all ages and abilities with access to teaching, materials and equipment provided five days a week.

Our aim is to work with trainee artisans to develop high-quality crafts that combine traditional designs with contemporary Moroccan style. Items can then be sold to visitors to generate a sustainable income. Our products are made by hand, using ancient artisanal techniques.

It’s our promise that at least 40 per cent of the purchase price goes directly to the artisans who crafted it. The remaining amount goes directly into sustaining the core programmes and covering the running costs of each centre.
